Back to Pittsburgh

Aaron received a call from his dad this morning and Allison is not doing well. The doctors were reviewing notes over the weekend and think her brain hasn't been able to get enough oxygen to function properly. Allison has signed the "Do not resuscitate" papers and it seems she could very well pass away within the next couple of days. Please pray for Aaron and his family, and continue to pray for Allison. Thank you SO much!

Working a Miracle

This morning, Allison is doing well today. She is starting to breathe on her own as of about 10:00 a.m. She has made a lot of progress as far as acknowledging the Good family goes. Aaron is still there with her and still covets your prayers for his sister. Thank you so much for praying a lot already!

Former Counselor Roy McDonald's Son Corban

On Friday, December 31, 2011, Roystin McDonald when to the hospital with Britnie at nearly 37 weeks of pregnancy for a non-stress test (NST), which is a screening test used in pregnancy when a cardiotocograph is used to monitor the baby's heart rate, and following induction to deliver a little baby boy. Prior to that, Britnie was diagnosed with preeclampsia, which is a medical condition in which hypertension arises in pregnancy (pregnancy-induced hypertension) in association with significant amounts of protein in the urine. During the NST the midwife could not find a heartbeat and upon further examination through an ultra sound, they discovered that Corban Zadok McDonald had already passed away. Britnie had an emergency C-section and further confirmed the ultra sound.

As you can imagine, the situation is not easy to handle, but T. Pope spoke with Roy this morning as he very openly shared:

"We don't always know why these things happen. I do believe that God is good and has my best interest in mind." 

Please pray for Britnie and him as she recovers physically and emotionally. Pray for peace of mind and heart as they seek to get back to jobs and life. They will have a ceremony for Corban and we'll do our best to keep you posted on that.

Allison Good, Aaron's Sister

On December 26, 2011, Aaron Good's sister, Allison (age 22), went to the hospital with stroke like symptoms related to a brain malformation. In addition to the ailment, she is three months pregnant. She was placed on a ventilator to control her breathing.

Since that time she has remained in ICU. They have drained blood and CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) from her head. She is in an induced coma and early on was responsive with hand squeezes and head shakes. She has been through MRI's and several other tests and even underwent a procedure to address aneurisms in her brain. The procedure was successful.

She is still in an induced coma in Pittsburgh and the doctors have said it's in God's hands and that they have done pretty much all they can do.

As you can imagine, the situation is very delicate and Aaron is in Pittsburgh with his family and sister in the hospital. T. Pope prayed with him and asked how he was doing. His answer:

"Relying on the Lord's strength. There's a lot of uncertainty about her current condition...God is good. To be honest, I'm hurting inside, as I'm sure everyone else is but it only increases my trust in our sovereign God."

Judah Truth Pope Has Arrived

 At about 10:25 last night we went to bed, and I fell fast asleep. At around 10:45 p.m. Kendra went to the bathroom and I simply heard, "I think my water just broke. Timotheus, will you come here, I think my water just broke." We of course headed straight to the hospital where my wife politely asked for an epidural as soon as possible. Though her water broke, labor was not progressing. They decided to give her Pitocin as the epidural set in. Labor still was not progressing and the catheter slipped so they had to re-introduce it to numb Kendra's lower half. It worked. It worked so well that this morning at 7:15 or so as Kendra and one of the nurses (Sarah) chatted about how many pushes it would take Sarah said, "We are thinking that we'll have a baby by 9:00 a.m. Is that okay? That should be about right." Another nurse (Debbie) had JUST checked Kendra 15 minutes prior than that and she said the baby was still really high. The nurses walked out of the room. Kendra looked at me with a very surprised look. The graphs looked like someone drawing the Himalaya mountains and she said, "I feel a lot of pressure. I feel like in one push he'll come out." The nurse came back in and Kendra shared the same information with her. At 7:21 the nurse pulled back the bed sheet to check Kendra again as we waited on the midwife and there was Judah's entire head coming out of her body. Debbie of course shouted for the midwife and Judah Truth Pope was officially delivered at 7:23 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 9 lbs. 10 oz and 20.5 inches long. As he gets older if he hits gaps in the offensive line like he was born, he'll be a Hall of Fame linebacker with the all-time sack record.
